In a famous Hanna-Barbera cartoon, Jinx the Cat often cried out the title of this painting, expressing his frustration at ‘meeces’ such as Pixie and Dixie, who appear here in the foreground. Here, the ’real world’ is invaded by famous TV and film mice,  while Claude the Cat reacts hysterically to those pesky meeces. The decision to add resin over the painting was influenced by the similar texture of the cartoon film cel.
