This painting has as its subject matter the glorious yellow roses from my mother’s garden and they’re displaying their magic in my favourite vase. I decided that yellow should dominate the composition as if the yellow from the roses were vibrating  across and dominating its environment. The vibrancy is sure to give life to whatever room it occupies. Like many of my paintings, I’m greatly influenced by the brilliant colours the post-Impressionist artists favoured.
